I’m Gonna Let It Shine
Praise, Power, and Protest in Black Musical Traditions Historic St. James to Host Major
St. James is a Historic Episcopal Church
We gather to worship God, support one another, and live our faith with integrity and compassion in the world.
Whether you are visiting for the first time, returning after time away, or seeking a church home, you are welcome here.
St. James is a community where faith is practiced together.
We value thoughtful worship, honest conversation, and care for one another. Our life together is shaped by the belief that love of God and love of neighbor belong together, and that faith is lived not only on Sunday, but every day.
Belonging grows over time, through shared worship and shared life.
Worship at St. James is reverent, welcoming, and grounded in prayer. Our services include scripture, music, a sermon, and Holy Communion, following the Episcopal tradition in a way that is accessible to newcomers.
You are invited to participate at your own pace or simply observe.
Sunday School is held each Sunday during the 9:30 service, offering children a place to grow in faith through teaching, fellowship, and care.
Our faith is lived beyond the church walls.
We value thoughtful worship, honest conversation, and care for one another. Our life together is shaped by the belief that love of God and love of neighbor belong together, and that faith is lived not only on Sunday, but every day.
Belonging grows over time, through shared worship and shared life.
Leadership exists to serve the spiritual life of the church, steward its resources responsibly, and support worship, service, and community life. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and care in all aspects of leadership.
